CROOKED LAEVES GREW ON TREES

2017

A 5S Visual Content production.

In order to treat her social media addiction, a photographer attempts the impossible: to capture a close-up of the horizon.

Laeves (purposely misspelled) is a short psychological drama influenced by Andrei Tarkovsky’s Solyaris, Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s The Double and pretty much anything “Lynchian”.

It’s a mind-bending  cautionary tale about a world that has disassociated from reality in favour of a digital fantasy, about an invisible disease disguised as an accepted, about a blackhole where identity and individuality is sacrificed for a homogenous society of uniform likes, wants and needs.

This is a story about social media.
